GośćInność/Hospitality is a socio-educational initiative promoting diversity and education on migration. Cooking together with migrants we bring diversity not only to the table, but to the Polish reality.
We organize educational-cooking workshops run by migrants and refugees, and dedicated for children, youth and adults. The workshops are a perfect opportunity to meet in person foreigners living in Poland.
GośćInność got the distinction from the city of Warsaw in the contest S3KTOR for the best non-governmental initiative in 2017 in the category innovative S3KTOR. It became one of the winners in the Deloitte contest for the Best social initiatives in 2018, and it received first distinction from the Incubator of University of Warsaw in February 2018.
Only few Poles realize that the Polish word „gościnność” (Eng. Hospitality) is composed of two other words – guest and difference – and that is how Nina Łazarczyk-Bilal came up with the idea for the name of her project. She set up her initiative in September 2017 once she Got to know that that the Polish Word refugee has been appropriated by Polish teenagers who often use it as an offense. So far, more than 400 people have taken part in GośćInność workshops in Warsaw and several small towns.
